IT’S ABOUT COMMUNITIES: Cawaco exists to assist communities and nonprofits. It is the local leadership that makes projects funded and supported by Cawaco successful. We are humbled to be a small part of their large success.
MONEY FOLLOWS IDEAS: Cawaco does not chase money. We believe that money follows vision and innovative ideas, supported by plans developed in cooperation with the community and partners.
INTEGRITY: We believe that doing the right thing for the wrong reason or doing the wrong thing for the right reason is not productive. We always strive to do the right thing for the right reason with the intent of generating the greatest good for the most people.
CREATIVE: When addressing unmet needs, Cawaco has the flexibility to be creative in developing solutions by creating new pathways for program delivery. Oftentimes, Cawaco is the bridge between local needs and organizations that have expertise and resources.
PARTNERSHIPS: Relationships matter. The majority of Cawaco projects are conducted with and through partnerships with other organizations. The trust developed with these partners allows Cawaco to deliver programs of service to our communities.
TRANSPARENT: We believe that the foundation for excellence is built upon the transparency of Cawaco operations. Cawaco is transparent with financial and project information. All financial details, at any time requested, are shared with board members. All project information, including financial information, is shared freely with project partners.
SHARING: Oftentimes, projects implemented successfully by Cawaco have been the ideas of others. Nothing is truly ‘owned’ unless it can be given away. Any project details, methods, forms, or outlines are shared freely with any other organization wishing to replicate or garner ideas for projects. Many times, another organization shared their information with Cawaco. Nothing is proprietary unless specifically restricted by written agreement or contract.
STEWARDSHIP: Funds entrusted to Cawaco to deliver projects are carefully administered to ensure that impactful projects are delivered. Financial stewardship means protecting the assets of the organization through a commitment to moral, ethical and prudent financial decision-making.
NON-COMPETITIVE: Cawaco strives to avoid the duplication of the mission of other nonprofits. If a need is identified, Cawaco will assist in identifying and referring the need to a suitable supporting organization or partner with other organizations to develop a targeted solution.
