
Cawaco RC&D’s Internship Program provides financial support to help natural resource organizations mentor and train tomorrow’s conservation leaders. We offer stipends of up to $1,000 per intern to offset the costs of providing hands-on, real-world experience in natural resource management.
Program Details
Funding Available
- Up to $1,000 stipend per intern
- Organizations may request funding for up to 2 interns
Eligibility
- Supporting high school or college students
- Partners who can provide on-the-job training in natural resource fields, giving students practical experience in:
- Conservation practices
- Environmental management
- Wildlife and habitat management
- Water resources
- Agriculture, horticulture, and sustainable food systems
- Land stewardship
- And other natural resource disciplines
Timeline
- Program runs October 1 through July 15
- Retroactive reimbursements may apply for qualified applicants if work performed is during the program period

- Contact our Programs Manager to request an application
- Recruit and hire your intern – you’re responsible for finding the right candidate for your organization
- Submit your application and supporting documentation
- Receive your stipend via reimbursement to help offset internship costs
