Entrepreneurs in North Jefferson County now have a space to grow.
The Town of Morris revitalized an existing building into a space that encourages a cooperative entrepreneurial environment for the area. The North Jefferson Innovation Center opened in June to provide entrepreneurs and artists with training, networking, resources, and incubation offices. This is a one-of-a-kind space in rural Morris, a town of just over 2,200 people.

The facility includes an office space, conference rooms, a copier, wi-fi, and a kitchen/break-room area. A pavilion is being constructed next to the building, which will provide an expansion for events as well as an outdoor workspace.

While the center officially opened last month, its resources and support have already led to the establishment of the Impact Arts Council, a nonprofit that connects people to arts education, entertainment, and community engagement opportunities.

This space has been made possible by an incredible group of partners, including the Town of Morris, Central Alabama Redevelopment Alliance, North Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson County Commission & Department of Health, and Enon Baptist Church.

Cawaco RC&D is honored to be part of a group of funders, including the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and Innovate Alabama. Thank you to Rep. Allen Treadaway and Sen. Shay Shelnutt for your partnership in supporting Alabama’s entrepreneurial ecosystem!
