The Walker County Soil & Water Conservation District worked with the Forest Service and NRCS for the Arbor Day program to drop off backpacks filled with educational items and a loblolly pine to 820-second graders and their teachers in Walker County and Jasper City Schools.
Other educational programs supported include: Learn and Burn hosted by Alabama Forestry Association, NRCS, District Conservationist Daniel Goins and Soil Con Brandon Bobo spoke to attendees about NRCS EQIP and CSP programs. 20 landowners participated in a live burn presented by Alabama Forestry Commission. The next upcoming event will be on September 15, 2021 The Forestry Planning Committee will be hosting our annual Forestry workshop for Foresters, loggers and landowners.
