Cool Green Trees (CGT) is helping Birmingham become a more sustainable city!
As one of 25 cities chosen for the three-year Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities (BASC) initiative, Birmingham selected three organizations to help the city unlock the potential to build a safer and more prosperous community.
CGT, Cornerstone Revitalization Foundation, and IMC Financial Consulting will partner with the city to address critical issues and identify local solutions for cleaner air, lower energy costs, better health, and more jobs for residents.

CGT has already had initial planning meetings with the other community-based organizations and is honored to be part of a team growing a more prosperous Birmingham!
Cool Green Trees is a program of Cawaco RC&D with a vision to plant trees to mitigate the negative effects of urban heat islands, stormwater runoff, and air pollution to uplift the community, economy, and health of Jefferson County.
