The mission of Changed Lives Christian Center (CLCC) is to take human beings who are presently homeless and weave them back into society by assisting with housing, jobs, meals, and access to betterment programs.
This project has improved the quality of daily life for CLCC’s program participants by providing safe and secure transportation for participants to their places of employment in Birmingham. CLCC’s participants are expected to find and maintain employment during their time at CLCC while simultaneously being taught life skills in order to get back on their feet. Ensuring that CLCC’s fleet is secure is an essential part of providing a safe, dignified transitional living experience for its participants. Participants now feel a greater peace of mind knowing that the mode of transportation provided for them is reliable and safe.
This sense of safety and security is something many of our participants have rarely experienced due to their past struggles with homelessness. We are so grateful for the difference this new vehicle is making on our community. So far, 55 men have been impacted by this project.
CLCC provides over 100,000 employment transportation miles a year, which leads to extensive wear and tear on the equipment.
