The Center Point Fire District is currently working on the development of Training center. We have completed the first part of our 5-year plan which is the design and construction of a 3-story multi-use fire training facility. This is a custom fabricated multi-purpose structure, designed specific for fire and rescue training. This facility has also been designed to align with NFPA 1403 – Standard for Facilities for Fire Training. The completed structure will provide over 2,500 square feet of useable floor space spanning over 3 stories. It also has an external 4 story tower that can also be used for specialized technical rescue training such as high angle and rope rescue. The overall objective for this project is to provide easier access to fire service training and workforce education in Northeast Jefferson County and surrounding communities. This project will also provide workforce development by extending to community programs like the Fire Explorers groups. Within Jefferson County there is approximately 15 Fire Explorer posts under the Boy Scouts of America, with around 150 cadets.
